RULES & REGULATIONS
1. Definitions
Organiser refers to the owner of the Queens competition.
Performer is the name recorded on the Competitor Application Form.
Competition refers to Royals: AAPC to be held at Queens of Pole, Ormeau, QLD.
2. Initial Selection Criteria
The Performer must be at least 16 years of age. All minors must have parental consent to participate.
3. Entry
The Performer may submit one entry per division.
The Performer may enter multiple divisions if applicable.
4. Conditions of Participation
The Performer declares they are not bound by contracts with other organisations related to pole dance.
The Performer must acknowledge all rules and regulations on the online entry form.
The Performer must submit up to 4 high-resolution, copyright-free images, including at least one portrait pole image. The Organiser may use these for promotion of Royals:AAPC at any time.
5. Division Progression
Winners of a division may not re-enter the same division the following year. They must move up or change divisions.
Example: A Beginner winner must enter Intermediate or Classic the following year.
6. Photography and Film
All competition footage and photography remain the property of the Organiser.
No compensation will be provided for the use of any images or footage.
Footage and images may be used for promotional or commercial purposes.
No photography or filming is permitted without written permission from the Organiser.
7. Division Rules
The Performer must be skilled in pole dance.
Music is selected by the Performer.
Routines must be no shorter than 2 mins and no longer than 4 minutes.
Performers must not converse with judges before or during the event. Competitors can engage with judges post event but cannot ask questions surround performance and feedback on any of the routines, including their own.
Costuming must align with division guidelines. G-strings and pasties are permitted. Nudity is not allowed. Breaches of these rules may result in immediate disqualification.
Poles used will be 38mm brass Pussycat Poles (4m tall): one static (stage right), one spin (stage left). Both must be used.
Judging breakdown:
Pole work: 15 points
Dance: 10 points
Presentation: 5 points
Performance: 5 points
Ties will be resolved by judge consultation.
8. Costume & Props
Pleaser or Street Heels or boots may be worn across all divisions and Heels is compulsory in Classic Division. Bare feet are not allowed in Classic Division.
Props must be pre-approved. Any props on the day not approved will not be permitted.
Props must be easily transportable, able to set up/pack down within 2 minutes and be able to fit into a suitcase approximately 80cm (H) x 55cm (W) x 35cm (D).
No confetti or glitter cannons unless pre-approved in writing.
Max 2 human props allowed per performance. They must hold valid audience tickets.
Grip aids (Dry Hands, Girlie Grip, Dancing Dust, Tite Grip) are permitted on the body only — not directly on the pole.
9. Competition Night Rules
No communication with judges at any time.
Performers must arrive early and follow Organiser instructions.
Judging panel decisions are final.
Organiser may expel a performer at any time.
Performers must be available for interviews or media requests.
Dressing areas are for performers and staff only.
No alcohol or drugs may be consumed before or during the event.
The Organiser may invite wildcard entries, who must cover their own expenses.
10. Liability & Rule Changes
The Organiser is not responsible for injury, loss, or damages, including during transport.
The Organiser may change rules at any time.
All final decisions rest with the Organiser.
